Exterior painting
Siding, trim, brick, stucco, doors, fences, decks and patio covers, prepped and coated for North Texas sun and storms.
We repaint brick ranches, Craftsman bungalows and newer HOA homes across Fort Worth and Tarrant County, with the prep done before any color goes on. Call any hour, describe the job, and we will set a time to walk it with you.
Fort Worth painters
Paint fails here for predictable reasons. The south and west walls take the hardest afternoon sun, spring hail chips trim and dents garage doors, and clay soil that swells and shrinks keeps opening caulk joints and drywall seams. A good-looking paint job that ignores those forces starts to chalk, crack or peel within a few summers.
That is why the work at Fernando's A+ Painting starts with a walkthrough instead of a number over the phone. We look at what the surfaces are made of, where the water goes, which elevations bake, and what has failed before. Then we price the prep, repairs and coats the house actually needs and explain each line, so you know what you are paying for and why it matters on your home.

Most requested

Full exterior repaints for Fort Worth homes, with scraping, caulk and primer work done first so the finish stands up to Texas sun and storms.

Walls repainted with real prep: settling cracks taped, patches spot primed, lines cut by hand and furniture covered from the first day to the last.

Doors and drawer fronts removed, degreased, sanded, bonding primed and sprayed with a hard cabinet enamel for a smooth finish at a fraction of replacement cost.

Staining and painting wood privacy fences, from cedar and pine pickets to posts and rails, with overspray control so neighbors' yards stay clean.

Old-world limewash and German smear finishes that soften dated brick, let texture show through and weather gently instead of peeling.

Cleaning, brightening and staining wood decks with penetrating oil or semi-transparent stains that soak in, resist UV and stay walkable in Texas heat.
Local conditions
UV and 100F walls break down binders and fade deep colors first on south and west faces. We use 100% acrylic topcoats, choose fade-resistant colorants for dark colors, and schedule west walls for the morning.
Hail chips trim edges, pocks soft wood and dents metal doors. We spot-prime every chip back to sound paint and feather edges so repaired areas do not show as patches.
Foundations move a little every season, which reopens caulk joints and drywall seams. We cut out failed caulk, use high-movement sealants at trim and siding joints, and tape and float cracks before priming.
Occasional hard freezes and humid spring mornings slow curing. We watch the overnight low and dew point and hold exterior coats when the product minimums are not met.

How we work
Think of it as building a paint film from the substrate up. Each layer depends on the one under it, which is why we never skip to the color.

We walk the job with you, note every repair, confirm colors and sheens, and put scope, products and the typical price range in writing.
Floors, furniture, landscaping and fixtures get covered. We wash, scrape, sand and degrease so the coating bonds to clean, dull, sound surfaces.
Rotted wood is replaced, cracks are taped and floated, failed caulk is cut out and redone, and bare or stained areas get the right primer.
Finish coats go on at the film thickness the product calls for, cut-in lines kept straight, with dry time respected between coats.
Before we pack up, we walk every room or elevation with you, fix anything you flag, and leave labeled touch-up paint.
Enter the room size to get a rough gallon count for walls. It assumes two finish coats and subtracts a typical door and two windows. Textured and porous surfaces drink more paint.
The calculator gives you the paint. The labor depends on ceilings, trim, repairs and how much furniture has to move. Most single rooms in Fort Worth homes run a few hundred dollars for walls only, and more when ceilings, trim and doors are included.

Most of our work is inside Fort Worth, from the historic streets of Fairmount and Ryan Place to the brick ranches of Wedgwood and the HOA neighborhoods of Park Glen and Heritage. We also paint across Tarrant, Parker, Johnson and Denton counties.
Typical projects

We choose products by surface and exposure, not by habit. Most exterior repaints get a Sherwin-Williams or Benjamin Moore 100% acrylic, limewash jobs often use Romabio mineral products, and cabinet work gets a waterborne alkyd or urethane-modified enamel. We work with whichever line fits the job and your color.
Brands: Sherwin-Williams, Benjamin Moore, PPG, Behr, Valspar, Dunn-Edwards, Romabio, Zinsser, KILZ, Rust-Oleum, Minwax, Cabot, Sashco, Olympic.
Spring and fall are the busiest exterior seasons in Fort Worth, so calling three to six weeks ahead usually gets you the week you want. Interior work is easier to slot in year round. We answer the phone 24/7, so you can call whenever the thought comes up and we will set a walkthrough time that suits you.
On most brick homes in Fort Worth we paint the trim, fascia, soffits, siding gables, doors and garage door and leave the brick natural. If you want the brick painted or limewashed, that is a separate scope with breathable masonry products, and we price it on its own so you can decide each part separately.
Yes. We work room by room, keep a clear path through the house, and use low-odor waterborne paints for walls, ceilings and trim. Furniture is moved and covered, and each room is put back at the end of the day when it can be. Cabinet jobs take the kitchen out of service for a few days, and we plan that with you.
Size and height matter, but prep usually drives the difference between two similar homes. Peeling paint, rotted wood, cracked drywall, a big color change that needs a third coat, and hard ladder access all add labor. The walkthrough lets us price your actual house instead of an average, and we explain every line.
Call us and describe the job. We will ask a few questions about the house and what you want painted, then set a walkthrough. After we see it, you get a written scope with products, prep, repairs and the price, and you can ask about anything on it before you decide.
